Description
The Latin American Journal of Political Philosophy (RLFP) is a peer reviewed on-line journal publishing works either in Spanish or in English in the field of political philosophy. Its main aim is to bring about a forum for academic debate on issues on political theory and domestic and international justice open to researchers all around the world. Since RLFP is published by a Latin American group of researchers, articles addressing issues of social and political development and democratic consolidation will be privileged. However, in our imperfectly globalized world, crises and changes taking place in any region may have a direct impact on the prospects of humanity as a whole. RLFP is particularly interested in works dealing with the situation of a world going through deep transformations from a cosmopolitan perspective.
The RLFP intended public are researchers in political philosophy, philosophy of law, and ethics.
All manuscripts will be subject to a double blind review process by external referees and must fulfill rigorous academic standards.
Scope
The Latin American Journal of Political Philosophy accepts political philosophy articles, and practical philosophy articles that are relevant for political philosophy. Articles should adopt an argumentative style, put forward an original and clear philosophical hypothesis, and defend it with arguments. The articles can be inscribed in any philosophical tradition as long as they conform to those requirements. In addition to systematic articles, the journal accepts contributions with a historical perspective as long as they show their relevance for contemporary philosophical-political problems.
Open Access Policy
RLFP operates with an open access policy to all its contents as long as this promotes a truly global exchange of knowledge, providing equal opportunities to researchers from all countries and regions. Moreover, it is well-known that this policy tends to increase the quotation rate of a journal’s contents. Authors retain copyright of their article and full publishing rights as long as they agree to publish it under the Creative Commons CC-BY 4.0 Licence.
All the contents of RLFP will be permanently available in its website.
Funding Policy
The Latin American Journal of Political Philosophy does not charge authors an article processing charge (APC). The Center for Philosophical Research assumes all costs associated with the editing and publication of articles.
Self-Archiving Policy
The journal does not retain copyright, so authors may make the final published versions available for dissemination in institutional repositories, personal blogs, or any other electronic medium.
Authors are permitted and encouraged to disseminate the final published version of their work elsewhere (e.g., on institutional or personal websites, thematic or institutional repositories, social media, etc.), mentioning the persistent article identifier (DOI), as this can lead to productive exchanges and increased citations of published works.
Digital Preservation Policy
The Latin American Journal of Political Philosophy guarantees permanent and secure archiving through LOCKSS, which allows for regular preservation of the content of registered journals to collect and archive newly published material.
