Atribución e inclusión en el sistema representativo
Dos comentarios a El sistema representativo de Felipe Rey

En este artículo ofrezco dos comentarios a El sistema representativo de Felipe Rey. En primer lugar, defiendo que el enfoque sistémico desarrollado por Rey permite dar cuenta de un modo teóricamente elegante de una propuesta con creciente repercusión académica, social y política: la representación política de las generaciones futuras y los animales. Al mismo tiempo, sugiero que reconocer la posibilidad de representar genuinamente a estos dos grupos debería llevarnos a cuestionar que la representación requiera necesariamente la posibilidad de atribuir las acciones del representante a los representados, como sostiene Rey. En segundo lugar, trato de mostrar cómo el debate existente en torno al problema de la demarcación – boundary problem – en teoría de la democracia (en breve, la cuestión acerca de cómo distribuir el poder y la influencia política) puede informar la discusión sobre una pregunta de gran relevancia para el enfoque sistémico: ¿quién conforma el demos del sistema representativo?
